Road Traffic Collision (RTC) Cleaning Course – Summer 2026

The course combines structured classroom learning with hands-on, practical demonstrations delivered both indoors and outdoors. By the end of the day, delegates will understand not only what is required to manage highway trauma and spill situations, but also how to set up correctly, assess risk, and operate in line with best practice and legal requirements. Delivered through a blend of classroom-based learning and live practical demonstrations, this course ensures delegates gain real-world, usable knowledge rather than purely theoretical understanding.

Key topics covered include vehicle requirements for highway and RTC response, appropriate PPE selection and usage, essential equipment and materials, and the correct use of chemicals for exterior trauma and spill remediation. Delegates will also be guided through industry standard processes and procedures, including safe working methods, contamination control, and scene management. The course focuses on Risk Assessments and Method Statements, ensuring delegates understand how to identify hazards, mitigate risk, and operate compliantly in high-risk environments such as live roads, highways, and public spaces.

Accreditation & Outcomes
On completion of the course, delegates will leave with the knowledge and practical understanding required to set up a compliant response vehicle and kit, and the confidence to attend exterior trauma and spill incidents in a safe, professional, and structured manner.

Trainer

The course is delivered by Paul Rumble, a highly respected hands-on specialist with over 22 years’ experience in the trauma and specialist cleaning industry. Paul has worked operationally at the sharp end of the industry and has been a long-standing working partner of Ultima, supporting and contributing to their training programmes from the early days of their specialist training events.

His delivery is practical, honest, and grounded in real-life experience, not theory alone.
